When you receive your tickets, you will see the details about the meeting point and the scheduled time for the guided tour. It is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes in advance to enjoy the experience without any problems.
What should I do if I booked my tickets with an AUDIO GUIDE?
You will have all the information in your email. Firstly, we will send you a confirmation email of your purchase. Secondly, we will send you another email with access to your private area, where you can download your tickets for the Palace of Versailles and, if you have requested it, the audio guide in the selected language.
What documentation do I need to access the monument?
As tickets to the Palace of Versailles are nominative, they may ask for your identity document (ID card or equivalent) or valid passport at the access control. If you do not have it with you, they may deny entry.

Once the purchase is made, tickets to the Palace of Versailles cannot be canceled or the date, time, and/or name of the visitor changed. Is it possible to eat inside the monument?
It is not allowed to enter the Palace of Versailles with food; in the Gardens, it is only allowed for consumption in the designated area. Transparent water bottles of less than 50 cl are allowed. However, it is allowed to enter the park with food.
Is there a cloakroom service at the monument?
The Palace of Versailles has cloakrooms to store coats, bags, and small backpacks.
Is the visit canceled in case of rain?
In the event of rain, the visit to the Palace of Versailles is not suspended. In the case of very adverse weather conditions, the park and gardens of Versailles may close for safety reasons.
What happens if the monument closes?
If due to force majeure the Palace of Versailles has to close its doors and informs us without the necessary prior notice, we give you the possibility to make the visit another day and time or the refund of the money for your ticket.
Can pets access the monument?
No, pets are not allowed. Access with guide dogs is permitted, provided that the corresponding identification card is presented beforehand.
Can I enter the Palace of Versailles at a different time than the one selected during my purchase?
No, when purchasing tickets for the Palace of Versailles, the desired date and time for the visit are selected and must be adhered to. If you do not arrive at that time, access to the monument will not be possible.

Differentiating between the sections of this great monument, in the Palace of Versailles you can spend between 1:30 and 2 hours, in the Gardens of Versailles, you could dedicate up to 2 hours, and to see the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon, and the Queen's Hamlet, you can spend an additional hour. All this depends on the type of visit and how much you want to stop.
Can photographs be taken in the Palace of Versailles?
Works in the permanent exhibition halls may be photographed or filmed for private and personal purposes only, and always without flash. Photography is not allowed in the temporary exhibition halls, unless there are signs at the entrance that expressly authorize the taking of images. Access with tripods, selfie sticks, or other similar devices for smartphones is not allowed under any circumstances.
What is the best day to go to the Palace of Versailles?
Weekends are the busiest, this space is closed on Mondays, and Tuesdays are open but receive a lot of visitors, so the best days are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The first hour is the best time for the visit.
Can you eat in the Garden of Versailles?
In the Gardens of Versailles, there is a picnic area with toilets, which is the only space where eating is allowed. Access to the Gardens is paid, however, access to the Park is free and picnics are allowed. You can also eat in one of the many restaurants and cafes that the Palace of Versailles houses.
